Union City Community & Recreation Services Online is an online program registration system for the City of Union City Recreation Department. This online system is available 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
Register at UCLS ONLINE
To register for a class or program online, you will need a Login ID and an Account PIN. If you don't already have an ID or PIN number, follow these steps.
- Click on UCLS ONLINE
- Click on the MY ACCOUNT tab
- Click on CREATE NEW ACCOUNT box at the bottom of the form.
- Fill in the boxes with your information then click on the SUBMIT box at the bottom of the the form.
That's it! Your new Login ID, Account PIN and Barcode numbers will be e-mailed to you, generally in one (1) business day. An individual Account PIN is assigned to your family when your account is created in our database. A Personal ID is a number assigned to each individual within the family. The combination of the Personal ID and Account PIN allow you to log into your account and register for Activities or look up information on your account.
Your Account PIN should be kept confidential. Any family member can sign in and register other family members.
How do I register for a class?
- Visit the Activities tab and search for the program you would like to register for.
- Click on the name of the program for which you want to register.
- Click Add to add the program to your basket (if the Add button is not available, the program may be full or unavailable for registration).
- You will get a message stating you are entering a page that has a secure connection. Click OK.
- If you have not signed in to your account, you will need to enter your Personal ID and Account PIN and click Sign In.
- Click on the drop down arrow next to Select Client to register yourself or a family member in this program.
- The screen will automatically refresh with that account member's name in the Person To Register field. To add another person, click Add Client. You may optionally click on Remove to delete this person from the program.
- Click Continue Shopping to search for another program.
- If finished shopping, click on Go To Checkout to make payment for your registrations. NOTE: Registrations must accompany payment in full at the time of registration.
Is there a fee for using the online registration system?
Yes, there is a nominal convenience fee charged by the Active Network for using this service. The convenience fee is a combination of a flat per registration fee plus a percentage of the total registration charges. The convenience fee and registration charges will be listed on the check-out page. Please review completely before completing your transaction. The convenience fees are non-refundable and are paid directly to the Active Network, the hosted web server.
What if I don't want to use a credit card?
We're sorry, but Internet-based registration requires the use of a credit card. Of course our Community Centers will continue to accept cash or check for those who prefer registering in-person or by mail.
I decided to not register for a program. How do I make sure my account hasn't been charged?
Your registration is finalized and your charge card charged only after you complete the Check Out process. Select My Account to review your transactions.
Can I pay for part of the program now and part of the program later?
When using the online registration system you will be required to pay your entire registration program fee(s) at the time of registration.
If I do not know the course number, how do I search for a program/course?
To search for a program/course, click on the Activities tab, select "Advanced Criteria Search", select your preferred Recreation Center and/or type in a "keyword" in the field labeled Keyword and then click Search. For example, if you type "dance" in the Keyword field and click Search, you will get a list of all the programs that have the word "dance" in their title. All of the programs being offered will be displayed with a brief description. Click on the course title of your preference for course details.
Can I register for any program via online?
Yes, you may register for most programs via online. However, select programs must still be registered for in person. These include programs with increased information requirements, "flexible" registration courses, and courses that require instructors approval.
How can I tell if a program is available or if I have been wait listed?
After you have added the program to your basket and selected the person's name, the program fee will appear in the Fee column if there is space available in the program or, if you have been wait listed, the word wait list will appear. At this point you can decide to stay on the wait list or be removed. Someone from our offices will contact you if a spot becomes available. At that time, you can decide whether to register or decline the spot.
How can I verify what programs my family members are currently registered in?
To verify what programs (if any) you or any family member are registered for, click on My Account and sign in. The My Account page contains the names of all members in your account. Click on the History button for each member or for Account to see details of current registrations on all account members.
How do I register a family member who does not meet the age requirements or a program prerequisite?
The online system will not allow the registration of a person who does not meet the required age or program prerequisites at the start of the program. If you feel that an age currently recorded on your account is inaccurate, please contact one of our Recreation Center during regular business hours.
Can I transfer or withdraw from a course if a conflict arises?
You cannot transfer for another class through the online system. Generally, no refunds or transfers are given on or after the first class. For refunds or transfers must be requested at least one working day prior to the first meeting (Friday for Monday classes), there is a $10.00 charge for any refund or transfer. Note: Day Camp and Aquatic programs have different refund policies; please refer to camp and aquatics information.
Is your system secure?
Union City has taken many steps to ensure the security of your transaction. On some browsers you will see a padlock located on the status bar at the bottom of the My Basket and My Account screens indicating that your data is secure. The online system employs 192-bit encryption, the highest form of encryption generally available to the public.

What if I can't remember my Account PIN?
If you forget your ID and Account PIN, click on the MY ACCOUNT tab, then the Forgot My Password link. Your Personal ID and Account PIN will be emailed to you immediately. If your email address is not recognized, you will be notified.
Can I change my Account PIN?
You can change your Account PIN as often as you'd like. Login to the system by clicking the My Account tab and enter your Personal ID and existing Account PIN. Click the Change My PIN link near the top of the page and follow the online instructions. Your Account PIN change is effective immediately. Remember that your Account PIN is shared by all family members, and that it should be kept confidential.
Why do you want my email address?
Your email address is a link between you and the online system. If you forget your Personal ID and/or Account PIN, you can simply click on the Retrieve Login Information function (under the My Account tab) and you will immediately receive an email with both your Personal ID and Account PIN.
What do I do if I'm locked out of my account? After several attempts to login using an incorrect Personal ID and/or Account PIN, your account will be locked automatically for 24 hours. You will be allowed to log in the next day with the correct Account PIN.
